Hermione Granger. Educreations.

Education Technology Standard 5
Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (3, 4)

English Language Arts. Reading: Literature Grade 4. Standard 3
Describe in depth a character, setting, or event in a story or drama, drawing on specific details in the text (e.g., a character’s thoughts, words, or actions).
  • I’m going to make an Educreations about Hermione Granger as a character. I’m going to dive into the details of Hermione and show how she has developed as a character over the book series.
  • I want the students to really understand the role Hermione had to play in the series and how she helped others along her journey.
  • The need for this project is for students to gather the knowledge about Hermione, what role she had to play, her attributes, and what an influence one person can have on another.

Body Time Machine. Tiki-Toki

Educational Technology Standard 5
Use technology tools (e.g., multimedia authoring, presentation, web tools, digital cameras, scanners) for individual and collaborative writing, communication, and publishing activities to create knowledge products for audiences inside and outside the classroom. (3, 4)

Health 4th grade. Standard 3. Objective 3
Exhibit qualities associated with healthy body image.
  • I will create a timeline using tiki-toki to show how peoples body shapes have changed over time. It will show in a modest and healthy way with pictures and facts about the human body has changed until this present day.
  • Students will come to see that not everyone use to be stick skinny and that is not the only way to live a happy and healthy life. Hopefully it will encourage them to stay healthy but know that the idea image of what the worlds wants isn’t always the best.
  • I think a lot of students fall into peer pressure and the media has a huge role to play in that. That its more healthy for you to love yourself and the body you have.  To embrace what you can control and influence others to have a healthy outward appearance.

English Language Arts Grade 4. Reading: Literature Standard 2.
Determine a theme of a story, drama, or poem from details in the text; summarize the text.
  • I will be making a clogger to show/summarize the historical fiction novel of "Call it Courage." The color, pictures, and text will keep the students engaged.
  • The main idea for this clogger is to show with picture and words a review of the text the students read. It also shows the kids that reading can be fun and that by connecting little details you can gather the big picture of a story faster.
  • The mind-mapping is needed nowadays because it is an interactive way to involve the students in reading. They need to understand the text as a whole. This also is a great way to lead a classroom discussion.
